Under the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program, fighters are compensated based on their total UFC, WEC (since January 2007), and Strikeforce (since April 2011) fights. The payout tiers are as follows: 1-3 bouts receive $4,000, 4-5 bouts receive $4,500, 6-10 bouts receive $6,000, 11-15 bouts receive $11,000, 16-20 bouts receive $16,000, and 21 bouts or more receive $21,000. Champions earn $42,000, while title challengers receive $32,000.

Additionally, UFC fighters will receive ongoing royalty payments of 20-30 percent for any UFC merchandise featuring their likeness, as confirmed by officials.
